What We Do

Chiropractic Services

The primary focus at Columbia Family Chiropractic is reducing the pain and discomfort associated with low back pain, neck pain, and headaches. We treat a variety of joint, muscle and nerve disorders using chiropractic adjustments (manipulation), exercise therapy, as well as traction, electrical muscle stimulation, and ice or heat. Our health philosophy is to treat each person as a human being with intrinsic value while addressing their health issues in a way that restores them to normal function as quickly as possible.

At Columbia Family Chiropractic we don’t stop with expert spinal care. Spinal injuries in sports constitute only a small percentage of all athletic injuries. Thus, at Columbia Family Chiropractic we are well prepared to manage the various musculoskeletal injuries that occur away from the spine. The physicians at our clinic diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate sports injuries including those of the extremities. Sports injuries are primarily musculoskeletal complaints and chiropractic physicians are experts in neuromusculoskeletal care.

At Columbia Family Chiropractic we will use an integrated approach to help you recover from your sports-related injury. We will evaluate your problem and the kinetic chain surrounding your injury so that any related problems can be fixed as well. All aspects of your injury will be addressed including joint, muscle, tendon, ligament and nutrition.

We also pay special attention to the nutritional aspects of athletic injury and performance. Nutrition can play a role in precompetition preparation, competition endurance, and all aspects of injury prevention and treatment.

On-the-job injuries are becoming more and more common in our society. From traditional traumatic injuries to repetitive injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, the work place can be full of perils that may result to you while at work. If you suffer an injury on the job, you have the right to open a Workers’ Compensation claim as result to you. If you have been injured at work, please contact us to set up an appointment as soon as possible to get your injury treated, resolved, and get you back to great health and back to work!

If you are already seeking care from another doctor, you can get a referral from that doctor for chiropractic care. Patients can change their attending physician up to two times after the initial choice. In the state of Missouri, treating physicians must qualify with the state’s Workers’ Compensation Board to treat patients under this system. Dr. Wicks, DC, is fully qualified with the state’s offices to provide services to injured workers.
